Who is this service for?
We regularly work with schools, hospitals, healthcare providers, charities and other support services. This is a paid-for service which is also available to members of the public.
How does it work?
Our interpreters typically assist with the relaying of important health and wellbeing advice to patients/clients during a private consultation or appointment.
Our interpreters work by listening to information being spoken in one language and then relay the message verbally in the language of the listener. They either do this immediately (simultaneous or whispering interpreting), or after a short time gap (consecutive interpreting).
We regularly respond to requests for Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, Dari, Farsi, French, Gujarati, Hindi, Italian, Mandarin, Nepali, Pashto, Polish and Russian speaking interpreters.
We have access to many other language speakers via our agency network.

Our experienced interpreters sign a Code of Practice and adhere to the following principles.
Confidentiality: Nothing which is said in the room will be repeated by the interpreter outside of the room.
Word-for-word accuracy: The dialogue will be interpreted word for word. Nothing will be added and nothing will be taken away.
Impartiality: The Interpreter will give equal attention to the service user and service provider. The interpreter is a neutral third party and has no role in the decisions taken by the service provider or client.
Non-advocacy: The interpreter will not intervene in the interview unless clarifying any issue or misunderstanding. The interpreter will not offer advice.
Interruption only for clarification: Interpreters are obliged to seek clarification on words or phrases they do not understand. The interpreter may interrupt the interview if they feel one of the parties has not understood.
Punctuality: Interpreters should arrive 10 minutes early to every assignment and in exceptional circumstances will telephone the service provider if any lateness is anticipated.
