Business rates relief reviews

If you receive business rates relief, you will be asked to complete a review form from time to time. This is to check if you are still entitled to receive business rates relief. 

If your relief is reviewed, we will send you a letter which will ask you to declare if you are still eligible.

Small Business Rates Relief

Businesses currently receiving Small Business Rates Relief have been sent a letter by post. The letter asks you to complete a review online. 

In the past, you may not have completed a review or application form. Changes to regulations now require businesses to complete Small Business Rates relief forms.

Review outcome: Discretionary Business Rates Relief

On 4 March 2024 the Council approved a new discretionary business rates relief policy

Some organisations that received discretionary relief for the 2023/2024 financial year will no longer automatically receive it in future years, but they can still apply.

The easiest and quickest way to respond to our letter is via our online form. Details of how to access the online form will be provided in the letter posted to your address.

You can contact us at any time. Please let us know if you receive business rates relief and you are no longer eligible.
