Coronavirus: Volunteer Woking

Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, our volunteering team has been overwhelmed with hundreds of pledges of support from local volunteers. We’re incredibly grateful for these kind offers of support from residents and businesses, and we’re inspired by the community’s resilience and spirit.

Volunteer applications

Due to the high level of volunteers coming forward, all of our volunteering roles have been allocated at this time.

If you have previously completed our online volunteering form and offered support to us, we will keep your details on our database and contact you if we require help in the coming weeks and months. If you wish to be removed from this database, please email you name and address to: volunteer@woking.gov.uk

Other ways you can volunteer

We’re aware of a number of local volunteer projects which are currently recruiting volunteers and may welcome your help.

Hand-made for heroes – can you help make urgent PPE for Surrey's healthcare heroes?

With demand for personal protection equipment (PPE) nationally and globally reaching unprecedented levels, social workers, care home staff, volunteers and others need items such as gowns, aprons and masks which skilled volunteers may be able to assist with, based on a Public Health England standard.

Surrey County Council is appealing to the wealth of skilled and talented people across the county – from university students to business owners and seamstresses, who may be able to assist them in producing personal protective equipment, such as gowns and masks.

All items will need to be made to a specification outlined by Public Health England. Please get in touch to discuss how you can help and Surrey County Council will provide this information.

Anyone that can help is asked to get in touch as soon as possible via ppe.donations@surreycc.gov.uk to offer their assistance.
