Why we publish our yearly accounts

Publishing our statement of accounts gives electors, local taxpayers, members of the council and other interested parties information about our finances.

The statements include:

  • the cost of services provided by us per year
  • how we paid for the services
  • our assets and liabilities at the end of our financial year

The format of our accounts is set by CIPFA under the Code of Practice on Local Authority Accounting for the United Kingdom.
