Borough elections are held in all 10 wards every three out of four years, usually, on the first Thursday in May. The borough election will take place in May 2025.

County elections to Surrey County Council are held every fourth year. The next county council election will take place in May 2025.
There are seven county councillors for Woking. Each county councillor is elected for a four-year term.

By-elections
A by-election is usually held to fill a ‘casual vacancy’ which occurs on either the death or resignation of a councillor. An election would not be held if that councillor was due to retire within six months.
Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner elections
Police and Crime Commissioners (PCC) are elected every four years. The next PCC election will take place in May 2025.
The Police and Crime Commissioner is responsible for setting the strategic objectives for policing in Surrey. This includes setting and updating a police and crime plan, setting the force budget and precept, and appointing, and where necessary dismissing, the Chief Constable.

UK Parliamentary elections
The maximum term of a Parliament is five years from the day on which it first met. The current Parliament first met on Tuesday 17 December 2019 and will automatically dissolve on Tuesday 17 December 2024, unless it has been dissolved sooner by the King.
Polling Day would be expected to take place 25 days later, not counting weekends or any bank holidays that fall within this period.
The last general election took place on Thursday 12 December 2019.
