County elections to Surrey County Council are held every fourth year. The next county council election will take place in May 2025.
There are seven county councillors for Woking. Each county councillor is elected for a four-year term.

By-elections
A by-election is usually held to fill a ‘casual vacancy’ which occurs on either the death or resignation of a councillor. An election would not be held if that councillor was due to retire within six months.
Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner elections
Police and Crime Commissioners (PCC) are elected every four years. The next PCC election will take place in May 2028.
The Police and Crime Commissioner is responsible for setting the strategic objectives for policing in Surrey. This includes setting and updating a police and crime plan, setting the force budget and precept, and appointing, and where necessary dismissing, the Chief Constable.

UK Parliamentary elections
The maximum term of a Parliament is five years from the day on which it first met. The last general election took place on Thursday 4 July 2024.
The next general election is expected in 2029, unless the prime minister calls one early.
