Woking’s community meals service is currently offering a free two day trial for potential new clients to experience the hassle-free meals and sample the food on offer.
The service, operated by Woking Borough Council, supports 200 residents across Woking, delivering a variety of meals, 365 days a year.
Community meals offer a range of fully flexible options:
- receive meals only on the days you require them
- frozen meals can be delivered for you to prepare at a time convenient to you
- choose if you would like your meal plated up or left for you to serve yourself
- choose your menu every two weeks.
Additional items are available to be ordered such as cereal, soups, sandwiches, fruit, cakes, and drinks.
Cllr Ellen Nicholson, Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Living Well, said: “Community Meals ensures residents can enjoy delicious, regular meals without worrying about how to prepare them.
“As well offering the nutritious and affordable meals, the service also provides a daily, friendly visit from a member of the team. This ensures the resident has regular contact, reducing the feeling of isolation and loneliness, which provides reassurance for friends and families.

Based on a recent customer satisfaction survey, 96% of clients are happy with the service received by the delivery team, and 93% are happy with the quality of the meals.
One client said, “My wife who had dementia died in February 2013 and since then I have had the blessing of having midday meals delivered by your wonderful staff continually. My grateful thanks to all of you for the excellent service before and after my wife's passing.”
A key safe service is also now included free of charge to allow delivery drivers to enter, with the permission of the client, if they are unable to answer the door. The community meals team can offer advice and referrals to a variety of services which could be beneficial to the clients health and wellbeing.
