Funded by the Department for Work and Pensions on behalf of the UK government, the Household Support Fund scheme supports vulnerable Woking borough households in need of help with rising living costs.
Four rounds of funding have been distributed by councils in England to support vulnerable households which are struggling to meet daily needs, such as food, utilities and wider essentials.
Household Support Fund extension (1 April 2024 until 30 September 2024)
In the spring budget on 6 March 2024, the chancellor announced that the Household Support Fund (HSF) would be extended for another six months, from 1 April 2024 to 30 September 2024, with a further £421m of funding. As has been done for previous schemes, the fund has been made available to county councils and unitary authorities in England to support those most in need.
We have chosen to support residents in the form of supermarket vouchers. If you are engaged with any of our services, including (but not limited to): housing, independent support, floating support, Careline or community meals, you may be able to receive HSF assistance via another method.
