Applications are now open for Party in the Park 2020, for performers, artists, entertainers, traders and food vendors to be part of this year’s event in Woking Park on Saturday 4 July.
Now in its ninth year, the free-to-attend, summertime festival is the ultimate family day out, and one of the largest of its kind in the South East. Attracting thousands of people from across the county and beyond, the celebrated event features a packed programme of free cultural entertainment.
New for 2020 is ‘Screen on the Green’, providing two free outdoor cinema experiences on Friday 3 July and Saturday 4 July.
Both outdoor cinema screenings will be complemented by a range of food and refreshment stalls – food and drink vendors will need to be available to trade on the Friday evening as well as throughout the Saturday.
The festival event management team is inviting interested applicants to apply online via the Celebrate Woking website: celebratewoking.info/partyinthepark
Speaking about the event, Cllr Colin Kemp, Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Cultural Services, said: “Party in the Park is the key summertime cultural event in Woking. Packed full of great entertainment ranging from live music, dance and street theatre to sport and children’s activities, the event brings together community groups, local artists, small businesses and artisans. This year I’m delighted to see the addition of Screen on the Green, bringing further opportunities for traders and an additional free cinema screening for visitors.
“We welcome applications from a wide variety of artists, performers, artisans selling handmade goods and food traders. We would encourage traders to apply soon to secure their pitch and be the first to the party.”
The festival opens at 5pm on Friday 3 July with Screen on the Green. Party in the Park opens at 12noon until 9pm on Saturday 4 July 2020. Festival event management regrets that not all applicants will be successful.
