The Government has updated it business rates support for retail and other business sectors. It has expanded its ‘retail discount’ to 100% discount on business rates. This discount now covers, all retail, leisure, hospitality businesses plus estate agents, letting agencies and bingo halls.
Business rates discounts
We have updated the business rates accounts for the relevant businesses and notifications will be sent in due course.
If you believe your business qualifies for ‘retail discount’ and does not receive a revised bill, please contact our business rates team. Email: brates@woking.gov.uk
Where still due business rates will be taken as normal.
Business owners who have difficulties paying, should contact the business rates team to arrange a revised payment plan. Email: brates@woking.gov.uk

Business grants
The Government has announced business grants of £10,000 or £25,000 to qualifying small businesses and some businesses in receipt of business rates retail discount. We are writing to businesses which qualify.
The grant applications process is now open.
