Coronavirus update: textiles and small electrical items collections

Date:

Friday, 27 March, 2020

(News source: published on behalf of Joint Waste Solutions)

Textiles and small electrical items (including batteries) collections will be suspended from Monday 30 March until further notice

Together, Woking Borough Council and Joint Waste Solutions are asking residents to assist the collection crews by storing their unwanted clothes, home textiles, small electricals and batteries at home until these services return to normal. Residents are also urged to pass on this information to their neighbours, particularly any neighbours which may not have access to the internet.

Other textiles recycling services, such as those operated by a range of charities at supermarkets and other community facilities, are also unlikely to be emptied regularly.

Other waste and recycling services

All other Joint Waste Solutions collection services are currently operating as normal. However, as the Coronavirus pandemic continues, it is anticipated that further service pressures may arise.
