Diversion on Church Street West for infrastructure improvements

Date:

Wednesday, 10 June, 2020

To support the delivery of low carbon, sustainable energy supplies across Woking Town Centre, engineering works will be undertaken on Church Street West for a period of seven weeks from Monday 15 June 2020.

During the works, Thameswey contractors, working on behalf of Woking Borough Council, will be installing district heating pipes underneath the carriageway, providing the essential infrastructure required to deliver Woking’s low carbon future.

From Monday 15 June 2020 until Friday 31 July 2020 Church Street West and Forge End will become one-way northbound only and southbound there will a signed diversion route in place with the following directions:

  • Southbound entry to Forge End from Victoria Way will be diverted via Lockfield Drive and Parley Drive with access via Goldsworth Road to Church Street West and finally turning left to Forge End.

The work will be carried out in sections to minimise impact on residents and businesses. When works are taking place across a car park entrance or exit, residents are asked to park elsewhere.

Residents are advised to check with local bus operators to find out if there are any alterations to bus services during the works by visiting www.surreycc.gov.uk/busoperators

Woking Borough Council would like to thank local businesses, road users and residents for their patience during this time.
