Have your say on the Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum

Local residents have the opportunity to comment on an application to re-designate the Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum, in an eight-week consultation launched today (25 September 2020).

The Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum was designated in February 2014 for a period of five years. Under the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended) the Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum has submitted an application to re-designate the Neighbourhood Forum for a further five years.

Before the Council considers the application, comments are sought from those who live, work or carry out business in the existing, Designated Neighbourhood Area, which will be taken into account before a decision is made on the application. If a designation is made, no other organisation or body may be designated for that Neighbourhood Area until the designation expires or is withdrawn.

The application, including a copy of the written constitution, map of the Neighbourhood Area to which the designation relates, and contact details for the Forum, can be accessed by visiting www.woking2027.info/neighbourhoodplanning

Cllr Graham Cundy, Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Planning Policy, said: “Neighbourhood Forums exist to represent residents and businesses in the Neighbourhood Area. They therefore have an important role to play in shaping development in the Neighbourhood Areas they represent.

“It is important that they continue to exist to support their communities, and this application will help Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum to have the status it needs to perform its functions, so it is important that the community is given the opportunity to comment on the application before it is considered by the Council. I encourage everyone to send their comments.”

Representations should be made in writing to The Planning Policy Team, Woking Borough Council, Civic Offices, Gloucester Square, Woking, Surrey GU21 6YL giving name, contact details and clearly stating reasons for support, or objections to the application, providing evidence where appropriate. Alternatively, email planning.policy@woking.gov.uk

The consultation closes at 5pm on 23 November 2020.

In addition to the website, copies of the application are available for inspection at:
