The Thames Basin Heaths Partnership are inviting local people and families to a fantastic, fun-packed week of free activities to promote public awareness and enjoyment of our fabulous heathland landscapes, their rare wildlife and their cultural history.
Highlights include a wildfire roadshow from the Fire & Rescue Services, with a chance to meet the local crews and clamber into the cab of one of their fire engines, and opportunities to get hands on with the reptiles - snakes, lizards and slow worms - that call our heathlands home. The Thames Basin Heaths Partnership will be showcasing nature with Nightjar walks, scavenger hunts, nature-themed crafts and more.
The Thames Basin Heaths Partnership is a partnership of local councils, land managers and nature conservation bodies conserving internationally-significant heathland habitats across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.
