An update from Cllr Ann-Marie Barker, Leader of Woking Borough Council, on Victoria Way (A320) closure.
“Work has continued this week and the weather has helped progress. SRM are currently putting temporary fixings in place. Once that work is complete there should be no further need for the road to be closed. Permanent fixings are currently being designed and will be installed without any need for road closure.
“This is a huge relief and I am urging SRM at every opportunity to ensure that this highly disruptive work is complete as soon as possible.
“Woking remains open for business as usual, so please come into town and support your local businesses if you can.
“We can’t allow this road closure to impact life in the borough any more than it already has which is why the Surrey Half Marathon will continue as scheduled this weekend (Sunday 16 March) and I’d like to wish all the runners the best of luck.
“Local road closures will be in place for a short while on Sunday morning to allow the safe running of this event. Visit the Surrey Half website for further information."
Thank you.
