Major upgrade works to transform commuters' favourite car park

Woking’s favourite commuter car park, Heathside, will become even more convenient for commuters, shoppers and residents.

Following our successful transformation programme that has revolutionised the parking experience in other town centre car parks, work is currently underway to upgrade Heathside car park with the same cutting-edge technology.

From June 2023, drivers parking in Heathside will no longer need to ‘pay and display’ when arriving. Instead, cameras will read each number plate on entry. Once payment has been made, exit barriers will lift automatically to allow vehicles to leave. Drivers will simply need to remember their vehicle registration to pay.

Unlike the current 'pay and display’ method, payment will need to be made before drivers exit instead of when they first park. New payment machines will provide the utmost in flexibility with ways to pay, making the process easier and more convenient.

Whilst traditional cash and card payments will still be accepted, card readers will be contactless and cashless options, such as Apple and Google Pay, will offer a safer choice, with minimal touchpoints.

Alternatively, payment can be made over the phone or via the JustPark parking app which will replace the current provider.

The ticketless system is a greener option, eliminating the requirement for paper tickets and completely removing issues that arise from faulty or lost tickets.

During the installation works, drivers should only expect minor disruption. Signage will be in place notifying drivers of the upcoming changes and all permit holders will be contacted separately.

We would like to thank you for your patience during these works.
