Pay for two hours parking and enjoy the third hour on us!

Date:

Saturday, 27 August, 2022

With a whole host of fantastic shopping, dining, leisure experiences, and now cheaper parking every Saturday for a limited period, there’s even more reason to visit Victoria Place, Woking.

From Saturday 3 September 2022, visitors can pay for two hours parking in Victoria Place car park and enjoy a third hour on us – that’s three hours for just £3 – with further savings when staying up to five hours.

That means it’s even more affordable for visitors to Woking Town Centre this Saturday (3 September 2022) who can enjoy live music and kids’ fun fair rides in Woking’s newest public space, Victoria Square, located at the Victoria Way end of Commercial Way.

The completion of Victoria Place earlier this year saw the opening of a range of new stores, including M&S, Skechers, Moss Bros, Gail’s Bakery and most recently national fitness brand, Gym Group. Whilst Woking’s latest entertainment complex, Woking Superbowl, is set to open next month.

To accommodate visitors, Victoria Place has over 3,000 car parking spaces, featuring 78 electric charging bays, 80 disabled spaces, 54 parent and toddler parking bays and an exclusive M&S ‘click and collect’ area.

Cllr Dale Roberts, Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Finance, said: “Our town centre offers much more than an excellent retail experience. It is becoming a destination for leisure, dining, events and much more. I’m delighted that we are able to trial cheaper Saturday parking for visitors to Victoria Place.

“We must support the continued post-pandemic economic recovery of the town and our residents’ changing needs during the cost of living challenges to ensure a thriving and vibrant town centre.

“By offering reduced car parking rates, we want to encourage visitors to stay longer and take advantage of Woking’s fantastic shopping, dining and leisure experiences, such as the region’s largest theatre and newly renovated cinema complex.”

The decision to reduce car parking charges (or fees) was made by Woking Borough Council’s Executive during its meeting in July. The aim is to support residents, local business and encourage visitors to stay longer and take advantage of the town centre’s new retail and, importantly, leisure offerings.
