Remembrance Sunday: we will remember them

Date:

Tuesday, 13 October, 2020

On Sunday 8 November 2020, we will host an Act of Remembrance in Jubilee Square. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions it will not be as normal. A maximum of 30 invited representatives will attend the Act of Remembrance which will be streamed live, and recorded, on the Council’s website for those unable to attend.

Organisations or individuals wishing to have a wreath laid during the event should contact Pauline Jackson by email at pauline.jackson@woking.gov.uk or call 01483 743025 giving the name of the organisation or person you wish the wreath laid.

Jubilee Square will be closed to the public from 10am until 12noon. The shops in Wolsey Place and Peacocks Shopping Centres are requested to remain closed until 12noon to avoid crowds gathering within the shopping areas.

We know that for many it will be a disappointment that you cannot attend in person. However, you will be able to attend the War Memorial, in person, later in the day, either alone or in groups of up to six. We will remember them.
