We are aware of an incident this afternoon at the Victoria Square development site.
A small number of exterior panels were dislodged from the hotel building landing in Victoria Way. With the risk of further exterior panels becoming dislodged, an exclusion zone has been created around the site as a precaution and Victoria Way remains closed. There are no reported injuries, damage to vehicles or other buildings.
It is expected that Victoria Way will remain closed until later this evening. A diversion route is currently in operation.
Victoria Square Woking Ltd is working closely with site contractor, Sir Robert McAlpine, to resolve the current situation and get the highway reopened as soon as possible.
