TEDxWoking: Apply to speak

Date:

Thursday, 19 May, 2022

TEDxWoking is back this winter and on Thursday 10 November 2022, audiences will enjoy thought-provoking talks about ‘Our Future’.

Potential speakers are now invited to put themselves forward for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share their ideas and make an impact on the discussions of the day.

This will be the sixth year that Woking is privileged to host a TEDx event. TED is a non-partisan, non-profit, community devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. Topics vary from science and business to global issues. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.

Being a speaker can impact those around you as each year talks continue to inform, engage and enlighten audiences long after they are delivered, leaving long lasting impressions. The live events are also filmed and made available online soon after they have taken place.

This year, TEDxWoking will be led by Rob May, Managing Director of the award-winning local IT support and managed services company, ramsac.

Rob is an experienced international presenter himself and gave his own talk at TEDxWoking in 2017. He will be leading the audition and shortlisting process, which takes place in early July, and will be offering free advice to confirmed speakers.

If you or a local person you know has an idea worth spreading about ‘Our Future’, and is able to speak for up to 18 minutes (without notes), please apply online at tedxwoking.com

Entries close at 5pm on Monday 20 June.
