Temporary closure of Market Walk

Date:

Monday, 12 July, 2021

Woking’s Market Walk has closed temporarily to enable works to take place which will improve the overall market experience. When reopen, Market Walk will benefit from additional ventilation and improved support services for all market traders.

Market Walk is due to re-open on Friday 23 July.

Popular market stall ‘Boz’s Wholesale and Retail Fruit & Veg’, is being temporarily relocated to Mercia Walk during the works, while all other operators will remain closed for the duration of the works programme.

During this time there will be closures to access routes into Market Walk and Wolsey Place. The entrances from Jubilee Square and the corridor entrance into Wolsey Place will temporarily close, along with certain pedestrian access routes from the Yellow car-park, which will be re-routed.

Rowen de Grauw, Customer Experience Manager, Woking Shopping said: “The temporary closure of Market Walk is being kept as short as possible given the substantial nature of the works. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during these essential works and look forward to welcoming you back to Market Walk once the works are completed.”
