Time is running out to apply for COVID-19 local restrictions support grants

A package of business support grants, funded by the government, will close to new applications on Wednesday 31 March 2021.

Woking Borough Council is urging local businesses and venues forced to close by the government due to the COVID-19 local tier and national restrictions to apply for these support grants before the closing date.

Eligible businesses and venues, including non-essential retail, leisure, personal care, sports facilities and hospitality businesses, must be new applicants which have not have previously applied to Woking Borough Council for these grants.

The grants closing to new applications are:

  • Local Restriction Support Grant (closed) for the period 5 November 2020 to 2 December 2020
  • Tier 3 and 4 Restrictions Grant for the period 19 December 2020 to 4 January 2021
  • Local Restriction Support Grant (closed) and Closed Business Lockdown Grant lump sum for the period 5 January 2021 to 15 February 2021

Applications must be received by Woking Borough Council by Wednesday 31 March 2021. Successful applications will be paid by 30 April 2021.

Coming soon: Restart Grant

From the beginning of April 2021, the government will be providing support to businesses for reopening safely as the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

Eligible businesses in the non-essential retail sector may be entitled to a one-off cash grant of up to £6,000.

Eligible businesses in the hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym sectors may be entitled to a one-off cash grant of up to £18,000.

We are expecting to open the application process for the Restart Grant over the next couple of weeks.
