Woking Railway Station underpass reopens to public

The pedestrian underpass at Woking Railway Station, which connects the southern and northern sides of Woking, has reopened to the public following essential repair and refurbishment works.

Over the past eight weeks, the works were carried out by Woking Borough Council in partnership with Network Rail and South Western Railway.

The works undertaken included the renewal, and where necessary, replacement of faulty stairs, improved lighting, plaster and tile repair and replacement, and repainting throughout that has created a light and more appealing experience for pedestrians.

With a new lease of life, the underpass has also undergone a deep clean before welcoming back everyday users.

We would like to thank all commuters and residents for their patience during the closure period and apologise for the disruption these works may have caused to their journeys.
