Civic Offices closures
Woking Borough Council
The Civic Offices remain closed to the general public due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic restrictions. We are continuing to deliver our services online via this website, over the phone and via email.
Over the Christmas period, Woking Borough Council’s customer services phoneline for non-essential council services will be closed from midday on Thursday 24 December 2020 until 9am on Monday 4 January 2021.

Council services
Centres for the community
All centres for the community are closed until further notice. If you need help or support during the festive period, please view our ‘I need help’ information.
Community meals service
The community meals service will remain open during the Christmas period.
Our friendly staff will be making deliveries every day, including Christmas Day and Boxing Day. At the same time, we will also check the customer’s welfare and safety.
Customers can choose from a range of meals (hot, cold or frozen) for any period of time – you do not have to commit to seven days a week.

Waste and recycling – collections dates changes
There will be changes to the waste and recycling services managed by Joint Waste Solutions between Monday 28 December and Monday 9 January.
Waste and recycling - missed collections and enquiries
If your bin has not been collected on its nominated collection day, please report it to Joint Waste Solutions.

Waste and recycling – garden waste collections suspended
The Coronavirus pandemic is continuing to put pressure on the Joint Waste Solutions (JWS) waste and recycling services.
From Monday 28 December to Friday 8 January garden waste collections will be suspended to enable JWS to focus on rubbish, recycling and food waste collections during this busy time of year.
Waste and recycling – Christmas tree recycling
Christmas trees can be taken to your local community recycling centre (run by Surrey County Council) or, if you’re a garden waste customer, you can cut up your tree and place in your garden waste bin for collection.
