Date:
We all want to get to the next step on the roadmap but there's still a long way to go before life returns to normal.
To keep us moving forward, everyone needs to keep following the guidelines to stop the spread of infection.
Please continue to:
- work from home where possible
- stay local
- remember hands-face-space
- get tested
- take up the vaccine when given the chance
Changes on 29 March
From Monday 29 March some restrictions will start to lift. The main changes are summarised below.
Social contact
Two households or groups of six (the Rule of Six) can meet up outside, including in private gardens.
Business and activities
Some outdoor sports facilities can reopen including tennis and basketball courts, and open-air swimming pools. People will also be able to take part in formally organised outdoor sports.
Travel
The 'stay at home' rule will end on 29 March but many travel restrictions will remain in place. People should continue to work from home where they can and minimise the number of journeys they make, avoiding travel at the busiest times and routes.
Travel abroad, other than for a small number of permitted reasons, is still not allowed. This is to manage the risk of imported variants and protect the vaccination programme.
