Led by fully qualified local coaches, the sessions will culminate in an Olympic-style competition, where participants will represent Team Woking against the 10 other boroughs and districts, hosted at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford.
Age categories and eligibility vary from sport to sport with opportunities for both boys and girls of all abilities to participate in the following sports: badminton, boccia, boxing, couch-to-2K, football, hockey, judo, lacrosse, netball, table tennis, squash and tennis.
Cllr Colin Kemp, Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Cultural Services, said: “Building on the success of last year’s fantastic Specsavers Surrey Youth Games result, these training sessions provide children and young people across the Borough with a fantastic opportunity to try a new sport or improve upon their existing skills. I would encourage those who are interested, no matter what their experience or ability, to sign up, learn new skills and above all, have fun! Best of all, it’s free to participate!”
